When I started my business, I hoped one day I would be able to use it as a way to give back, and in some small way, pay forward all the good stuff life has given me. And really, who doesn’t love to support a good cause?

So I was so happy to hear of Black Tie 4 Breast Cancer and excited to have the chance to contribute to their fundraising dinner. BT4BC works with the Prince of Wales Hospital and raises funds to benefit breast cancer patients at the hospital, as well as the development of the hospital’s Cancer Centre. BT4BC is run by a group of incredible young women, and (as is often the case when strong, determined and talented chickies band together) the event has been an amazing success. In the two years it has been held, the event has grown incredibly, and raised over $250,000! So I was very excited to jump onboard and help them out with this year’s event.

Butterfly Philosophy donated the table centrepieces for the 68 (!!) table event at The Westin’s Ballroom….we sure got a work out ferrying stuff from one side of the ballroom to the other! Being in support of a breast cancer charity, it was only natural to turn to all things pink! So I got pretty pink things….

…. furry pink things….

…. spikey pink things….

and created a range of centrepieces fitting for the event’s Secret Garden theme. A few quick snaps while we were setting up….

Thank you Kelly, Jenny & Sarah for all your hard work on Saturday in making everything look so pretty and perfect. I would be buried under a mountain of pink dahlias if not for you guys! A shot of us all midway through setup

Don’t you love when you cross paths with old friends? Jen and I were friends way back in my first year of uni but as often happens, life took us in different directions and we dropped out of contact. So imagine my delight when my facebook inbox blinked red with Jen’s message saying she was getting married in Sydney and could I help her out with her wedding flowers! Yay!

Jen’s always had amazing taste and style so I wasn’t surprised to hear of some of their wedding details – a stunning Henry Roth gown, Zest at Point Piper for the reception, a sexy boat for a spin around the harbour….

Naturally we wanted the flowers to be just as amazing, so we loaded up on spring-time favourites peonies and david austin roses to create these ultra-feminine fluffy bouquets.

Even the weather cooperated and gave Jen and Andrew one stunning sunshiney day!

Whilst going through my folders, I stumbled upon a gorgeous set of images which I never had a chance to blog.

This wedding had just four tables and less than 30 guests. But it involved an insane number of roses! Hundreds of white roses were used to create these beautiful martini glass centerpieces. Tulips and jonquils played a supporting role in smaller arrangements.

I must admit that white rose weddings aren’t usually my style, but looking at the finished product you can’t help but fall in love with these elegant centrepieces. I loved them!

Despite the name of this post, Daisy and Ka Wai’s wedding day started with torrential rain. Big fat scary raindrops, falling relentlessly and turning Sydney into a wet sopping mess! When I got to Daisy’s place, I looked at the bouquets in the back seat, down at my raincoat, and pondered my next move. In a sacrifice that all good florists make at times like these, I took off my raincoat, threw it over the flowers and ran all the way to Daisy’s apartment block. I was drenched, but luckily the bouquets still looked gorgeous!

Daisy’s bouquet was made up of yellow roses with small clusters of daisies sprinkled throughout. Not many people get the chance to include a flower namesake in their bouquet! Daisy was a stunning bride and makeup extraordinaire Amy Chan was on hand to add to the glamour!

I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting Ka Wai before the wedding, so I was excited to meet Daisy’s man-to-be when I got to the church. Daisy had told me repeatedly that he was a really fun-loving guy, and even requested that the buttonholes be something fun and lively to match his personality.

So actually, I shouldn’t have been surprised when I walked into the church and saw this:

Dancing groomsmen! It made me giggle to see them refining their moves and hearing the theme from Pink Panther being played in church.

Daisy and Ka Wai’s reception took place at the ah-mazing Zest at Point Piper, and even better, the rain finally stopped and the sun had come out! After a week of horrible weather, it was so nice to see the warm sunlight streaming through the windows as I setup the venue. Their yellow and white theme added to the sunniness of the day!

With the help of creative genius Steph from Stelloberry Designs, we put together this seating chart and photoboard that I just loved to bits!

I met Jenn & Leon over email as they lived in Singapore and were planning their Sydney wedding from afar. I finally got to meet them just two days before their wedding, and they were every bit as wonderful as they sounded! They were super sweet and super friendly, the kind of couple that makes me love my job so, so much!

Jenn wanted soft pastel colours for her bridal bouquet so we used roses, stock, blushing bride, succulents, and peris japonica to create the perfect look for her.

The same colour theme was used for the table centerpieces, incorporating candles.

I often get brides wanting candles for daytime receptions, but worry if it will look weird or out of place. I say go for it! Candles always create great atmosphere and are magical and pretty at any time of the day. Use whenever and wherever you wish!

In typical Spring-fashion, it had been a week of relentless rain, still sprinkling as I loaded up my car for the morning’s delivery. Luckily the threatening clouds dissipated, and I couldn’t help but smile when I saw sunshine peeking through the clouds as I slipped away just before the ceremony started. Jenn and Leon got the outdoor waterside wedding they wanted and I couldn’t have been happier for them.

Thank you Jenn and Leon for letting me be a part of your gorgeous day!
