Welcome to a new installment of WTHITF!

Today’s bouquet is one that kicked off our spring wedding season back on the first day of September. It’s bright, it’s textured, and it’s full of springtime goodies! Which are your favourites?

I know I’m not meant to play favourites, but ranunculus are one of my all-time favourites and I just love their ruffly faces full of petals! They also come in the most incredible array of colours ranging from pastels to brights and some are even two-toned. There is so much to love about them!

It has been an incredibly busy season so far and I am feeling (as always) incredibly lucky to have the chance to work with so many wonderful couples. I have many weddings waiting patiently to grace the pages of this blog, and I can’t wait to share them with you… just as soon as I can get to it! Stay tuned! xx

Today I want to introduce you to a gorgeous little flower that is dainty, daisy-like, and yes, a native!

Everyone, meet flannel flower.

It’s cute as a button and as its name suggests, flannel-y in texture!

For these wedding centrepieces we combined flannel flower with gum foliage, tetragum nuts and old man banksia. 100% native flowers and foliage. Completely gorgeous and not a wrinkled nose in sight!

So please, won’t you give natives a chance? They’re an untapped treasure trove of goodness! xx

1. I am slightly obsessed with seaholly. It’s cute, its blue, it’s spiky. What’s not to love? I think it’s adorable, and it looks great in just about every bouquet!

2. I think succulents rock. Like seaholly, I think they belong everywhere!

So you can understand why I loved Noush’s bouquets so much:

Non-floral goodies such as succulents, berries and foliage (and seaholly, of course!) are a great way to incorporate interesting and unusual elements into your bouquet. And they’re super hardy too!

Anoushka & Josh planned the perfect wedding at Peat’s Bite. Accessible only by boat, I felt like a bit of a rockstar florist as I loaded flowers onto the waiting speedboat. I fell in love with the venue as soon as I got there – it was secluded, laid back and just perfect for an intimate wedding.

p.s. Here is a quick snap I took of the flowers, traveling in style to Peat’s Bite. Hilariously right after I took this photo, we ran out of fuel and had to be towed to the venue! It was such a laugh, one of the more exciting deliveries I have executed!

Today’s WTHITF post comes from an April wedding and is chock full of bright, colourful and textured goodies.

This is truly a bouquet you’d want to reach out and touch. It has feathery bits (celosia), spiky bits (sea holly), bobbly bits (hypericum berry), furry bits (trick), and of course lots of pretty bits in between! Which are your favourites?

Don’t be afraid to mix lots of different textural elements into your bouquet – the result will be something interesting and one-of-a-kind! If you love texture but want something a little more subtle, stick to neutral tones (whites, creams, greens) and pick flowers and foliage that fall within that colour palette.
